										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Quality is achieved by <strong>doing</strong> the <strong>right</strong> thing <strong>right, the first</strong> (and <strong>every</strong>) <strong>time</strong>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">A cherishing journey of over 25 years in the food industry aided me in developing a passion for flavour in a safe and sustainable environment. A world without spices and food ingredients cannot be imagined. Therefore, the basic need to procure and process these precious gifts of nature in a sustainable and ethical manner, where food safety and quality culture is a way of life.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">How can we have an approach towards being First Time Right …</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There are many standards available for Food Safety Management Systems accepted globally. BRCGS Food Safety, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, SQF 2000 and few more. Most of the requirements are common across these standards and all cover HACCP Food Safety Plan.</p>
<ul style="text-align: justify;">
<li style="list-style-type: none;">
<ul>
<li>First, select a standard you would want to implement. This is a decision mainly based on the demographic area of the sale of your products and the preference of the customer base. Understanding these requirements are key factors in further strategies and planning of the workings in the organisation.</li>
<li>Appoint a competent Consultant and Trainer, who is well versed with all the requirements of the particular standard. He should be competent in conducting a thorough gap analysis and further come up with an efficient plan to close the identified gaps.</li>
<li>Forming a multi-disciplinary team with members responsible for Quality Assurance, Technical Management, Production &amp; Operations, Maintenance and other relevant functions, should be the next step for effective working. This team should commit to an action plan with time line for closing the gaps identified.</li>
<li>Conduct an effective Internal Audit to evaluate readiness for FSMS Certification. Pre-Assessment Audit is also a very effective tool to evaluate your entire food safety system.</li>
<li>This paves way to another important aspect, selection of a reputed Certification Body. Once the selection process is complete, perform certification audit and follow up to ensure that any non-conformities raised have been effectively closed within the timeline.</li>
<li>Effective implementation of a Food Safety Management System shall ensure that all actions are performed with a focus to be <strong>first time right</strong>.</li>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The philosophy of food is in all its aspects, but at the core it’s a holistic way of life.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There is a devotion to truth, values, beliefs and a commitment to an examined life, in all respects above all the choices we make in terms of food. Food for our body, our mind and our soul. We as humans use our values and beliefs to make choices, which in turn guide our actions. But when it comes to food for all three aspects of lives, we must give preference to conviction over convenience and not taking the easy path but adhering to the right one.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">We must ask ourselves what we want to consume for our own good, rather than what looks good to the world. One may say, perception of food could mean differently to different people. But if we align to our inner core and vital energy, each one of us have the instinct to identify the best for them. When we all at our individual level will give importance to food as a whole, there will be a collective shift to the philosophy of food universally.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It is to stop and think beyond the thought of simply satiating our body and our taste buds, its an experience. One that has travelled across levels and undergone transformations eventually to energise. Incorporating this thought process and global values, will reflect in our food choices, which will in turn bring about significant changes in our lives. These eventually with a collective effect will certainly bring about a change with respect to the philosophy of food, making it an alternate way of life. Making our world a much better place to flourish and live in.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Let us all get together, creating a difference, in this journey of life, designing, savouring and elevating it for a unique holistic experience.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The feeling though very unique for each of us, it eventually just satiates ‘Each Soul’.</p>
<ul style="text-align: justify;">
<li>Most of us will remember their loved ones who cook for them and fond memories of favourite family dishes and cuisines will immediately surface.</li>
<li>Home makers may relate to daily meal plans as per taste preferences of family members.</li>
<li>For a Chef, it would take him on a culinary journey of transformation of fine ingredients to create a unique world of flavours.</li>
<li>Some may relate it to an experience, a new place to try delicacies and savour different cuisines.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: justify;">But one thing common to all, <strong><em>it brings a smile on each and every face</em></strong> &#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Taste is not achieved with just an addition of salt to your food.  The aromatic range of various spices and herbs play a very important role in each meal. As percentage of weight, spices may just be about 2% of your meal. But you definitely cannot imagine your life without this extremely important component of a cuisine.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Over 25 years now having been in this industry dealing with food ingredients, developing a passion for flavour with Spices and Herbs and extending the same passion worldwide indeed has been an enriching experience &#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This association with the industry led me to another equally important aspect, which in turn introduced me to the world of Food Safety Management Systems further leading me to gain in-depth knowledge and hands on experience in this field &#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As a Certified Third Party Auditor in Global Standards for Food Safety, I got associated at all levels in organizations, enabling me to make effective Training Calendars and Training Programs for Team Members at different levels of Management and further for general and specific needs as well &#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Taking this journey further and adding another facet I was led to an equally exciting path, now as a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional. I feel that this new wave will be the main area of focus with most organizations in the near future &#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It has been an extremely fulfilling experience and I am here to share the same so let’s explore and take this journey together, interacting sharing and developing a passion not only for flavour, food safety, health but most importantly life &#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Till then will rush down the Spice Lane, and be back with some more accents to incorporate and Ace it Up &#8230;</p>
